THIS WEEKEND

Generic Theatre Company presents

"Fat Pig"

By Neil LaBute

Directed by Eugene Romero
Starring: Tim Guillot, Arielle Kahaner, Maya Rao & Nick Ronan

Critically acclaimed playwright Neil LaBute takes us into a world where looks just might be everything. "Fat Pig" follows the story of Tom, a 30-something corporate worker, who falls in love with an overweight librarian named Helen. Beyond the controversial confrontation of weight/body image issues, at it's core, the play is about weaknesses. Tom faces the struggle between his public and private life. In the end, will he cast off his peers or the woman he has come to know and love?

Hey! [06 Apr 2005|03:50pm]

stargirlx
I'm Allie, incoming freshman (09 baby!) and I'm definitely interested in theater, I've been acting most of my life. I'm not sure if I will major in performing arts, but I am in the Women in International Arts and Culture program, where I'll take a theater course second semester. In regards to auditioning for productions, is favor given to theater majors? Or can any student participate?

Thanks! I look forward to seeing you all next year :)

HI! I hope everyones classes and various other activities are going along well. I thought I would share this little bit of humor that I'm sure we all can appreciate:

How many GW students does it take to change a light bulb?

Five: one to change the light bulb, and four to complain that for the money they're paying, someone damn well ought to change the light bulb for them.

Is anyone else out there not doing the 24-hour play but still wants to get involved in Generic? I'm wondering if I'm the only one... (I was very excited about the 24-hour play but I have to be out of town...I guess I'll have to wait for the auditions next week to get my foot in the door)

So...I was just checking. And someone, please, post how it goes on Saturday. :)
